YOUR GUIDE TO ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT IN DUPAGE COUNTY
Art has been the focus of my life. I studied architectural rendering and interior design at the Chicago School of Art and Design. I have a B.A. and M.A. from DePaul University. I worked as a commercial interior designer and later became Professor of Interior Design at Harper College and head of the Interior Design program. I retired as Professor emerita.
I always continued to produce fine art, mostly paintings and print making. I have an extensive printmaking series of birds and animals done in etching, engraving, aqua tint, wood engraving and wood cuts. My paintings are done in acrylic and are mostly of people or nature subjects. Though seen as stylized realistic, I think of the elements of design as I compose my works. I am interested in developing a composition that will move the viewer’s eyes around the work, through color placement, shape size and directional lines.
I have recently completed some paintings that ask the viewer to think of life issues. My nature and animal paintings celebrate the beauty of nature.
