The Naperville Men's Glee Club

The Naperville Men’s Glee Club (NMGC) was formed on January 9, 1988 by founder and director emeritus Bonnie Roberts.  Since then, NMGC has cultivated a rich history of performance and community involvement through highly rated concerts involving local men and women. They have performed in collaborative concerts with students from DuPage County high schools (Lisle, Naperville, and Aurora) and appeared with Young Naperville Singers (YNS) and the Brightside Theatre Youth Project. Other concerts have featured DuPage artists such as Dong Fang Performing Arts, Suzuki Strings, the DuPage Symphony Orchestra, and the Naperville Municipal Band. Many aspiring young musicians have been featured as soloists, local students have filled technical roles or assisted with lobby operations. Collegiate groups are a continuing source of collaboration for concerts and workshops throughout the history of the NMGC. Glee Clubs from the Naval Academy, Purdue University, the University of Illinois, University of Michigan, Miami University, St. Olaf College, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio University, and the University of Pittsburgh have performed in concerts with NMGC in venues throughout DuPage County.

In addition, the NMGC has toured to perform in New York’s Lincoln Center, Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, Boston’s Old North Church and other locations.  The Glee Club has a long history of producing projects such as “NMGC Voices of Hope”, which brought the healing power of music to families affected by cancer,  “United to SHARE”, which focused on families who have suffered infant loss, and “American Heroes”, which celebrated local, everyday heroes among us.
